Wellways doesn’t only provide accommodation, we also have a 3-Phased Care Plan to take young people on a development journey from supported housing to full living independence. Each young person placed will receive weekly ‘keywork’ sessions from experienced support workers which will eventually phase out once our young people are placed into Wellways step down process.
Phase 1 - Supported Care
Following an initial assessment, people with the most complex support needs share a welcoming and stimulating homely environment in one of our 6 modern ground floor where 24-7 support is always available. Each individual enjoys their own private bedroom with ensuite wet room & kitchenettes.
Residents on this floor have greater supervision and support, with counselling rooms and training rooms close by. This way they can have more frequent access to our support team.
They are taught more life & social skills to help to prepare them to move to more Semi-Independent Living on the Phase 2 floor of the facility.
Phase 2 - Semi-Independent Living
Young residents who have less complex needs have the opportunity to live within the Semi-Independent Phase 2 floor of the facility.
The 9 luxury studio apartments on this floor also have ensuite shower rooms and kitchenettes equipped with a fridge, oven and storage cupboards.
in preparation for fully independent living , these young residents are taught budget skills, business & job hunting skills, social skills and life skills.
They also have access to similar emotional & physical support such as counselling and career guidance.
Once residents demonstrate greater abilities to live independently and show good life & money management skills, then they are allowed to move to our Phase 3 fully-Independent floor within our same facility.
Phase 3 - Step Down Care
This final phase is reserved for young people who show real skills of independence.
They move to more luxury studio apartments on the upper floor of our premise.
They are now required to manage their rental payments, bills and housekeeping skills.
They are trained in the areas of running a business as well as preparation for employment (CV writing skills and interview skills).
